The rooms
Six Rooms, From the Courtyard to the Roof
Every room has its own bathroom, a ceiling fan and shutters that close properly. None has a television, and nobody has asked for one in years.
The house has no lift. The Small Room and the Courtyard Room are on the ground floor, the Arch Room and the Blue Shutters on the first, the Long Room on the second, and the Roof Room on the third, at the top of a stair that Kostas rebuilt himself.

The Small Room
The old storeroom off the hall, with one window onto the lane and a single bed that is a little wider than most. It is the coolest room in the house in August and the one walkers ask for, because they are out all day and want a good bed and a low price.

The Roof Room
